I get asked everyday about the information I have gathered about microdosing! (Yay!) So I gathered my info all together for you, so you can return to it anytime you need! Start with the videos, check out the FAQs, and remember I am here as your resource! There is a lot of information here, so take your time and enjoy!

This video is wonderful for understanding dosage and explains the Fadiman method of dosing. It's important to remember that this is just a starting off point! There's still very little science to support any one method over another. Many people in the community I know all dose according to their own needs.

Q: What is a microdose? Where should I start? How do I find the dose that best fits me?


A:  A microdose is between 0.01g - 0.2g for psilocybin.  I recommend to everybody to start with the smallest amount possible (0.01g) . Then increase by that much (0.01g more) each dose day until you have a day with noticeable effects. Then you go back down one, and that's your sweet spot. You want to have a sub-perceptual experience, that's the true definition of a microdose.


Q: How often do you dose and why do you choose that method? 


A: I stared with the Fadiman method of one day on, two days off. I found that I was experiencing the after glow of a dose day for longer, so I now dose intuitively. It ends up being about every 5 days or so.


Q: How should I make my microdose? How should I source my medicine? How do you ingest your medicine?


A: These questions are complicated and it comes down to access to medicine and the legality in your state. Ideally we all cultivate our own medicine discreetly in our homes for personal use only. 

Once you have cracker dry mushrooms, use a grinder to powder them. You can grind enough for a couple doses, and weigh it out on a gram scale, remember 0.01g - .2g is a microdose. 

THIS IS THE MOST ACCURATE WAY !!


You can also make 'blue honey'  Honey preserves the psilocybin essentially forever. It may be the most ancient way to preserve mushrooms! I use 10oz of local honey and combine 3 grams of powdered mushrooms.  I recommend if you do this method to start with as small as 1/8 teaspoon.


More Important Information

Start a microdosing journal

I think this is the most important thing you can do to find your sweet spot,  track your progress, and see changes. 


It's important for me to have a small ritual when taking a microdose. I brew herbal tea, I set a specific intention, I say a prayer to Great Mother, I say thank you, then I stir in my blue honey and drink...

 

However that looks for you will be unique, just keep in mind that this medicine is a gift from the Great Mother. Honor that sacred relationship in the way that best suits you.


  • Start each entry with the time and amount of your dose. 
  • Remember to include if you ate anything. (I discovered when I dosed on an empty stomach I would feel bad.
  • The day after is where you might experience an "after glow"
  • Write your observations and feel into your body for any shifts.

Relationship #1 your inner healer / guide

Self love is a side effect of microdosing.


Connect with yourself! Deepening your relationship with yourself is the most important. Observe self without judgment.

Relationship #2 the medicine

The term 'relationship' can help us reflect in the nuances of our connection to the experience of microdosing. What are your feelings toward the substance? Where is your relationship? How do you give and receive in this relationship? How much do you know about it? How are you using it? 


With positivity and gratitude we have this medicine available thanks to the Great Mother. 

Finding your sweet spot

  • Learn the similarities and differences between LSD and mushrooms.
  • Identify your sweet spot low and slow, give yourself time to find the ideal dose. 
  • Start on a day you have off work. Don't plan to drive. Be available to observe how you feel.
  • If you don't feel anything, don't take more that day, wait until your next dose day for an increase.

Feeling your sweet spot

With a proper microdose, there are no classic psychedelic effects.

You may however experience;

  • openness and creativity
  • a sense of presence and flow
  • mood elevation and emotional balance

Signs you did not take enough;

  • no change
  • irritable

Signs that you have taken too much;

  • overwhelming sensations
  • anxiety
  • visual distortion
  • decrease in social interaction
  • obsessing on the effects
  • exhausted
